Nike has just released the SB Low Dunk "Will Ferrell," but unfortunately they are only available in Japan at the moment. The color way featured in these shoes is inspired by one of Ferrell's best roles of all time at Ron Burgundy in Anchorman (they are the same color as his suite in tie in case you don't remember). All around a great shoe based on one of my favorite characters of all time.
Recently Gatorade has been doing quite a bit to celebrate the induction of their most high profile client, Michael Jordan, into the hall of fame. A few weeks back they released a limited edition cooler box that featured a number of goodies, including the 20oz bottles used in this advertisement. Check out this ad and appreciate the amount of work, design, and creativity used in this great piece of art. MJ is still the man.
Usually I am not a huge fan of New Balances, but these are something special. The new 575 "White Pigeon" is a slight modification of their original shoe which was a collaboration with Staple Design. Looks like they did a great job and their choice to use a combo of off-white and grey was a smart one. These should be available later this month, check them out when they drop.
As you may have heard or seen recently, the film "Where the Wild Things Are" is slated to drop this fall and it looks like it is going to be an absolute masterpiece. The two minute trailer (featuring the song "Wake Up," by Arcade Fire-a perfect soundtrack) allows you to catch of glimpse of Max's magical world and leaves you wanting to explore it for a full two hours. The creatures themselves look like they were pulled directly from Maurice Sendak's pages and it is amazing how real they actually appear. A few days ago a featurette which includes interviews with Spike Jonze, the director, and Maurice Sendak, the original author. This short clip allows you to take a small look at the creative process behind this film and the relationship between Jonze and Sendak, and you even get a peak at some behind the scenes footage from the set. This is a must see, and if this does not get you pumped about the movie there I do not know what will. Enjoy, I know I did.
